Daily Prayers for an end to the Coronavirus Pandemic
Today we pray for those workers who still must work during this Coronavirus pandemic, often in ways that put them at risk. We pray for those in service professions and other jobs we often take for granted.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed by thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours, now and forever. Amen.
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

A reading from the gospel of John.
Before the feast of Passover, Jesus knew that his hour had come to pass from this world to the Father. He loved his own in the world and he loved them to the end. The devil had already induced Judas, son of Simon the Iscariot, to hand him over. So, during supper, fully aware that the Father had put everything into his power and that he had come from God and was returning to God, he rose from supper and took off his outer garments. He took a towel and tied it around his waist. Then he poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples’ feet and dry them with the towel around his waist. He came to Simon Peter, who said to him, “Master, are you going to wash my feet?” Jesus answered and said to him, “What I am doing, you do not understand now, but you will understand later.” Peter said to him, “You will never wash my feet.” Jesus answered him, “Unless I wash you, you will have no inheritance with me.” Simon Peter said to him, “Master, then not only my feet, but my hands and head as well.” Jesus said to him, “Whoever has bathed has no need except to have his feet washed, for he is clean all over; so you are clean, but not all.” For he knew who would betray him; for this reason, he said, “Not all of you are clean.” So when he had washed their feet [and] put his garments back on and reclined at table again, he said to them, “Do you realize what I have done for you? You call me ‘teacher’ and ‘master,’ and rightly so, for indeed I am. If I, therefore, the master and teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash one another’s feet. I have given you a model to follow, so that as I have done for you, you should also do.

Lord, you know we are suffering in many ways because of the afflictions caused by the COVID-19 virus. We pray today for those in service jobs, people we always rely on but do not always notice. Help those individuals, often overworked and underpaid, to know of your love and concern for them. Amen.
Lord, for the grocery workers, who make it possible for us to eat, Let them know of your love and peace.
Lord, for convenience store workers who allow us to get what we need, Let them know of your love and peace.
Lord, for those trash haulers who pick up our garbage, Let them know of your love and peace.
Lord, for construction workers who fix what is broken, Let them know of your love and peace.
Lord, for home health care workers who care for the sick, Let them know of your love and peace.
Lord, for janitors and custodians, who clean and keep us safe, Let them know of your love and peace.
Lord, for waiters and waitresses who serve in restaurants, Let them know of your love and peace.
Lord, for short order cooks, who prepare food for us, Let them know of your love and peace.
Lord, for those who work for little pay to harvest our crops, Let them know of your love and peace.
Lord, for farmers who grow our crops and take care of our animals, Let them know of your love and peace.
Lord, for town and city workers who plow the snow, Let them know of your love and peace.
Lord, for town and city workers who care for infrastructure, Let them know of your love and peace.
Lord, for police officers who keep us safe, Let them know of your love and peace.
Lord, for firefighters who protect our homes and businesses, Let them know of your love and peace.
Lord, for EMT personnel who care for those who are hurt and sick, Let them know of your love and peace.
Lord, for ambulance drivers, who get the sick to the hospital, Let them know of your love and peace.
Lord, for truck drivers who carry produce and products to us, Let them know of your love and peace.
Lord, for rail workers, who transport goods, services and people, Let them know of your love and peace.
Lord, for those in the airline industry, that help move people and equipment, Let them know of your love and peace.
Lord, for workers who fix roads and bridges, Let them know of your love and peace.
Lord, for bus drivers and public transportation workers, Let them know of your love and peace.
Lord, for small business owners who support our communities, Let them know of your love and peace.
Lord, for electrical workers who allow us to have electricity, Let them know of your love and peace.
Lord, for natural gas workers who bring natural gas to homes and businesses, Let them know of your love and peace.
Lord, for water workers who make sure we have clean drinking water, Let them know of your love and peace.
Lord, for sewer workers who make sure we can dispose of waste, Let them know of your love and peace.
Lord, for landscapers who make our world more beautiful, Let them know of your love and peace.
Lord, for auto mechanics who keep our vehicles in top shape, Let them know of your love and peace.
Lord, for day care workers who provide love and support to children, Let them know of your love and peace.
Lord, for those who make clothes, that we may be warm, Let them know of your love and peace.
Lord, for technicians who bring internet to our homes and signals to our mobile phones, Let them know of your love and peace.
Lord, for social workers who help the poor and those in need, Let them know of your love and peace.
Lord, for receptionists who help communication, Let them know of your love and peace.
Lord, for secretaries and administrative assistants who provide valuable services, Let them know of your love and peace.
Lord, for those who sell insurance to protect us in difficult times, Let them know of your love and peace.

Let us pray.
Dear God, Dear God, the world is filled we workers we hardly ever notice. Yet their work is essential to our well-being. They go about, often quietly and unnoticed, doing their jobs for the benefit of all. Help them during this difficult time, most especially if they must work in at jobs that could make them unsafe. And fill us with grace so that we may acknowledge we deep gratitude all they do for us. We ask this prayer in the name of your Son Jesus who lives with you and the Holy Spirit, one God forever and ever. Amen.
May almighty God bless us, protect us from all evil and bring us safely to everlasting life. Amen.
