For the sick

Daily Prayers for an end to the Coronavirus Pandemic

Today we pray for all those who are sick with the Coronavirus, that by joining their sufferings with Christ, they may make up what is lacking in the sufferings of Christ.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Lord, Have Mercy.       Lord, Have Mercy.

Christ, Have Mercy.    Christ, Have Mercy.

Lord, Have Mercy.       Lord, Have Mercy.

Lord, Hear Us.        Lord, Hear Us.

Lord, Graciously Hear Us.     Lord, Graciously Hear Us.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed by thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours, now and forever. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Glory Be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

A reading from the letter of James.

Is anyone among you suffering? He should pray. Is anyone in good spirits? He should sing praise. Is anyone among you sick? He should summon the presbyters of the church, and they should pray over him and anoint [him] with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will save the sick person, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed any sins, he will be forgiven. Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The fervent prayer of a righteous person is very powerful.

The Word of the Lord.  Thanks be to God.

Let us pray.

Lord, Dear God, we know you are the Divine Physician, providing the ultimate healing to all peoples. Lord, so many around the world are sick and suffering. We know especially at this time there are many who are sick with the Coronavirus, and many more who are afraid. We desperately pour out our hearts to you that we may be healed. We pray you may forgive all our sins, and whether we are sick or well, help us to remember how much you love us and how close you are to us. We ask this prayer in the name of your Son Jesus who lives with you and the Holy Spirit, one God forever and ever. Amen.

May almighty God bless us, protect us from all evil and bring us safely to everlasting life. Amen.
