Closer to the Heart
And so it begins. Lent. One song that came to my mind today was the song by Rush, Closer to the Heart. The heart has always been seen as a dwelling place for God, the physical organ that is often mentioned as the home for our soul. And even in secular understanding, the heart has been seen as a symbol of love.
Lent is about the heart. It is about using prayer, fasting and almsgiving to grow in deeper holiness so that we might love God and love our neighbor. Let’s pray for each other to have a holy Lent.
