Will You Be Ready?
Certain events can just seem to come out of the blue. Learning we have some terminal illness. That awful call that someone you love and care about has died unexpectedly. Losing a job. Having something stolen. Jesus uses this image to help us to understand the importance of making sure we will be ready when the time comes for his arrival.
Advent is the time we need to focus on being ready for the coming of Jesus into our lives. We need to change our lives to prepare. We need to cast off deeds of darkness, being watchful for the unexpected, and to focus our eyes on the gifts of God’s Kingdom. Will you be ready?
