Saint Catherine of Siena just might be the most underappreciated Doctor of the Church. She was a great mystic. She was a tremendous theologian. She was a woman of courage who loved the Church so much she was able to challenge the pope. Perhaps the best way, though, to sum up her great life of faith is that she loved Jesus and His Church. And that is a challenge for each one of us.
