Advent Reflection. It can be so hard to keep our eyes focused on the will of God in a world that seems filled with so much brokenness. Life is hard. It is filled with suffering. At times it can seem that for some there is nothing about it that can be seen as happy.

Advent Reflection: Blessed Be the Lord

It can be so hard to keep our eyes focused on the will of God in a world that seems filled with so much brokenness. Life is hard. It is filled with suffering. At times it can seem that for some there is nothing about it that can be seen as happy.

However, so much of our relationship with God and our view of the world turns on what we choose to focus upon each day. For all of the challenges of being childless, Zechariah remained faithful. Elizabeth remained faithful. They were able to see beyond their hardships to be ready for the blessings of God when they appeared.

The mystery of the Incarnation which we celebrate fully at Christmas is really about a truth so amazing, so wonderful it should fill us with hope and love. God is with us! In all of the hardships of life, God is with us! We are not alone! We have relationships with one another, and with God too!

Each day during the season of Advent, you will find an advent reflection from faculty and students at Christian Brothers College High School. To find all the reflections, go to our Advent Reflections page.
