Getting Ready for the First Sunday of Advent
It seems that for whatever reason, this year the season of Advent has really come up fast. And maybe it is because my life has been oh so busy. And maybe that is a sign that I need this Advent season even more than ever before. At the core of the season is the notion that we will take time to slow down, to reflect, and to work to become ready to see Jesus whenever his comes into our lives. Which is, of course, always.
So can you slow down? I think that is what God is asking of each of us. I know that is what he is asking of me. To slow down, acknowledge his presence, to reflect and to pray. Can you do the same?
Helps for the Season
In an attempt to help for this season of Advent, there are some resources we can provide that will help. First, as we have the past few years, we will opportunities to read and listen to Advent Reflections. We will also provide Caryll Houselander’s Reed of God reflections. And we will seek to provide ways to enter into prayer that will help you to learn to love the silence.
