Subscribe. If I learned anything in the last few months, it was that the best laid plans I set up are not in fact ironclad. Rather, a series of things helped me to realize that life, any life, but especially the spiritual life, is all about balance. If I am not healthy as a person, I am little help to anyone else. And so the daily posts I was making had to take a break. So now, more than ever, it is important to subscribe.
That said, thousands of people visited our website this year and look around, and for that I am so grateful. The post sometimes but not all the time has only slightly impacted the number of visitors we see each day. And, they come from all over the world. So I cannot say it enough. Subscribe. Know when I post and don’t miss a thing.
Generally speaking, my homilies for the weekdays are around two minutes. Weekend homilies are generally about seven or eight minutes. In addition, you can listen and pray the rosary (as well as the rosary in Dominican and Lasallian “modes”). For special seasons like Advent and Lent, there are extra ways to enter more deeply into these spiritually great seasons for extra benefit. And, from time to time I reflect on something that strikes me.
What I have learned is that it is important for me to maintain the balance of striving to be holy. Time for prayer. Time for work and preaching. Time for community and relaxation. And time for study. And there are only so many hours in the day. As much as I hate to admit, I cannot do everything. And neither can you.
That is why it is so important for us to make time for our relationship with Jesus. And part of that relationship is to seek him in the ways I mentioned above. Pray. Share the Faith. Acknowledge you are made for relationship. And if I haven’t mentioned it. Subscribe.
