Profession

While it certainly is a good day when one is ordained a deacon or a priest, the highest moment of Dominican life is the solemn profession to the order for life, or solemn vows. The Vow is more than a promise, as it is the gift of one’s entire life, being and self to God and to God’s people. In all vocations the key element is the total gift of oneself to God. For our Lord, there is nothing “halfway.” Rather, whatever we give to God we give completely. As Br. Greg makes his solemn vows, let this be a reminder to you about the need to grow closer to Jesus.
