The author of Ecclesiastes is in the midst of a crisis of meaning. Everywhere it seems is examples of meaningless. Nature seems to repeat things over and over. But for what? Humans toil and work, but for what? Do we make a difference? Will we be remembered. Only if we know where true wisdom is found.
