Urgent Relief for Survival in Gaza and Recovery Across the Holy Land: July 30, 2025

Gaza. The Church’s historical and cultural presence in the region is more vital than ever. CRS’ Church partners are deeply rooted in the life of the community and are trusted across religious and social lines. Yet they operate under grave danger, often directly in harm’s way.

Urgent Relief for Survival in Gaza

CRS Gazan staff member visits families where CRS provides shelter, water and sanitation support across displaced sites.

Gaza’s families are enduring conditions of catastrophic collapse as hostilities escalate and basic elements for survival vanish. Death from starvation and severe malnutrition have been rising daily. Families and civilians are grappling with death, injury, forced displacement, and deep psychological trauma.

This conflict has extended to Lebanon, where hundreds of thousands of people were displaced in 2024, and have returned to damaged homes and infrastructure.

At the same time, Syria stands at a critical crossroads following the collapse of its government in December 2024, marking the end of a 50-year regime. For many, this moment signals a potential new beginning—yet, uncertainty looms over the Syria’s future.

The Church’s historical and cultural presence in the region is more vital than ever. CRS’ Church partners are deeply rooted in the life of the community and are trusted across religious and social lines. Yet they operate under grave danger, often directly in harm’s way.

Catholic Relief Services and our local partners have been providing critical assistance. Our longstanding presence across the region allows us to quickly adapt and mobilize to a sensitive, complex and rapidly-changing context. We are providing food, shelter, cash assistance, hygiene supplies and care for people’s emotional well-being. CRS hopes to transition to sustainable recovery efforts, including the rebuilding of homes and livelihoods.

With your gift, families and civilians across the Holy Land will continue to receive vital relief and care as they seek refuge and relief. Your prayers and support will make so much difference. Please give a vital gift today!
