Why Mary is the Queen: Homily for Tuesday, August 22, 2023
Today we celebrate Mary. In the Old Testament, it was not the wife of the king who was the queen, but the mother of the king. If Christ is the King, then Mary, his mother deserves this title. But more important is that Mary is the most faithful disciple of her son. It is Mary who in all things said “yes” to God and God’s will. May we do the same.
