There are no shortcuts to holiness: Homily for Tuesday, March 14, 2023
Students ask these questions all of the time. “Did we do anything yesterday?” which really means, “Do I have to do any work?” Or “Will this be on the test?” which really means, “Do I really have to learn this?” The question of the apostle Peter is another way we search for shortcuts being taken in the spiritual life. And in a way, with God’s grace, we do not need to do things on our own. God’s grace is the shortcut, and it helps us to recognize that we have all we need to do the right thing, to forgive others, and to receive forgiveness.
