Don’t Fear Honesty with God: God Knows Who You Are: Homily for Tuesday, September 27, 2022
The way we think of God says a lot about our prayer life. If we think of God as a teddy bear, always making us feel better regardless of what we do, we probably do not have a very fulfilling faith. If we think of God as angry and distant, then we probably do not have a very helpful relationship with him. But in the first reading today we encounter the honesty of Job, which can serve as a reminder that in whatever happens, we can always be honest with God, for it is God that brings out the best in us, even when things are not going so well.
