We Know the Answer: But not how we live: Homily for Sunday, September 12, 2021
We know the answer to the question. But do we really answer the question by how we live. There is the rub. Peter gets the right answer, but does not live the answer. We can be like that too. We wish the poor well, but we do nothing to help them.

The Answer

We know the answer to the question. But does how we live really show we understand it? There is the rub. Peter gets the right answer, but does not demonstrate he understands it. We can be like that too. We wish the poor well, but we do nothing to help them. We know the bible is the word of God, but we do not read it. We know we receive Jesus in the Eucharist at Mass, but we do not go. What is it you need to do to show you understand?
