Lord, you know we are suffering in many ways because of the afflictions caused by the COVID-19 virus. We pray today for all of those in the healing profession who are nurses. We thank God for giving to them a caring vocation. We thank you for calling them to imitate you in your care and compassion.
For nurses

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Lord, Have Mercy.       Lord, Have Mercy.

Christ, Have Mercy.    Christ, Have Mercy.

Lord, Have Mercy.       Lord, Have Mercy.

Lord, Hear Us.        Lord, Hear Us.

Lord, Graciously Hear Us.     Lord, Graciously Hear Us.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed by thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours, now and forever. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Glory Be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

A reading from the book of the prophet Jeremiah.

For I will restore your health; I will heal your injuries—oracle of the LORD. “The outcast” they have called you, “whom no one looks for. You shall be my people, and I will be your God.

The word of the Lord. Thanks be to God.

Let us pray.

Lord, Dear god, so many people around the world are suffering with the coronavirus. Yet, you raise up men and women to bring compassion and healing. So often your ministry took the form of healing. You healed the blind, the lame, the deaf, and the crippled. Your servant Moses lifted up the serpent in the desert to heal those who had sinned. We know you love us more than we can understand. Help us to keep faith in this loving presence of You. Help us to know deep within us during this time of anxiety and worry, of sickness and disease, that you never leave us. Help especially those who feel alone to feel the prayerful spiritual support of so many all over the world. Help us, with faith in You, to love you, Father, and to imitate your Son through the Spirit to witness to the power of your healing and our trust in You. We ask this prayer in the name of your Son Jesus who lives with you and the Holy Spirit, one God forever and ever. May almighty God bless us, protect us from all evil and bring us safely to everlasting life. Amen.
