What does it mean to be strong? It can refer to physical strength, such as the result of manual labor or weight lifting. It can mean an inner strength, such as what can be experienced when people are able to do wonderful things in the face of tragedy. But the type of strength we experience today in the readings is the strength that comes from God, which provides a spiritual strength which may not always seem evident. Advent is a time to touch base with this type of strength.

Readings for Today

I am a Dominican friar of the Central Province, and I believe strongly in the evangelizing work we do. Would you help? Currently there are two ways to help. First, you can make a donation through Facebook. This campaign lasts from now until the end of the year. I would be humbled if you would consider a gift to our 1216 Annual Fund. All Gifts are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law. You can make a donation anytime by going to our GoFundMe page.

You can subscribe to the DePorres Pages Podcasts, which will give you all four podcasts. Or, you can subscribe using your favorite app: RSS, iTunes, Stitcher, Spotify, Soundcloud, TuneIn, Castbox, Castro, PocketCasts, Overcast, Google Play, and IHeartRadio. You can also subscribe on our website.
